A Grade ll listed house with extensive landscaped gardens, gifted for the use and enjoyment of the people by Henry Charles 'Inky' Stephens of the Stephens' Ink Company.

Volunteer

 We are grateful to our team of Volunteers who are keeping the Gardens beautiful for all to enjoy.

Sessions run Friday mornings 10.00 & 12.30 during winter.

On Friday mornings the Bothy Gardeners also meet for more gentle gardening activities

New for Tuesday Morning is Hack n' Bash which runs 9.00 -12.00 - this session deals with heavier gardening such as Briar removal or general maintenance

We welcome volunteers to carry out work on the estate. It is a chance to show your love in a practical way and to meet other like minded people.

Volunteers carry out a range of tasks on the main estate including clearing weeds & brambles and assisting in the Visitor Centre.

We need help to close the Gardens, shifts are available daily from 1st March to ring the bell and advise visitors that the Gardens are closing (17.40 - 18.05)

The Bothy Gardeners

The Bothy Gardeners meet in the Bothy Garden on Friday mornings between 10.00 - 13.00 to maintain this marvellous walled garden 

You do not need any special skills to be able to help as we are sure to find a task to match your ability.  Why not call into the Bothy on a Friday for an informal chat with its Keeper Alison Dean
