Proposed plans

A look at what we plan to do with the funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We’re developing the following detailed proposals. These are also shown on the project masterplan:

  • Re-store the pond and create a new water supply system to bring more water into the pond via the cascade.
  • Re-build and re-plant the rockery.
  • Re-pave the main terrace and open up key views to Monkey Hill, the pond, wet garden and main southern footpath.
  • Re-open the entrance into the stable yard and re-pave the yard itself.
  • Convert the garage into a community resource room for events and educational activities.
  • Convert the stable block into a new café/restaurant.
  • Provide new toilets in the stable yard.
  • Repair the Water Tower.
  • Restore the Bothy Garden and provide new railings and gates.
  • Expand the playground and provide new natural play opportunities.
  • Re-develop the toilet block as a kiosk with a toilet and changing facilities.
  • Repair footpaths and provide new gates at the northwest and northeast entrances.
  • Develop a new service yard with a greenhouse for horticultural training.
